IT'S TIME TO BE ABSENT! 2 Corinthians 5:7; (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) v8; We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. AND NOT TO USE AN EXCUSE! Ephesians 2:8; For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: v9; Not of works, lest any man should boast. Grace gets abuse; slanderously reporting that the more we sin, the more God's grace can be manifested. IT'S TIME TO BE ABSENT! We are not walking in grace until we have broken from world corruptions. Titus 2:11; For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, v12, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. EXCUSE! DON'T WASTE YOUR AFFLICTIONS! Let's get an understanding! Not all afflictions are at the hand of God. Some come from the devil/flesh. Lamentations 3:33; For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. The Lord allows our afflictions only for his holy, eternal purposes. It is to bring us into a "wealthy place"! Philippians 1:12; But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel. Mark 8:35; For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. Paul also wrote; Acts 20:24; But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. A look at AFFLICTIONS! 1 Thessalonians 3:3; That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. You probably saying he didn't call me to such a life! WRONG! Psalm 34:19;Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. IT'S A INVESTMENT! Prodigal son; Luke 15:13; And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. I believe this younger son represents a whole camp of Christians I call the "BLESS ME CLUB." All they want are the blessings that come with the Christian life. They don't want to hear about the cost and sacrifice of communing with him or walking in obedience to his word. Like the prodigal, a worldliness still grips them, a desire for the pleasures of this life. Luke 8:14; And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. The prodigal son - "BLESS ME CLUB", attitude illustrates what is known as "EASY GRACE." Romans 6:1; What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? v15; What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. "BLESS ME CLUB, don't join up." Quit acting like you can't handle the blessing of grace! DON'T JOIN UP!
