Prodigal son; Luke 15:13; And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. I believe this younger son represents a whole camp of Christians I call the "BLESS ME CLUB." All they want are the blessings that come with the Christian life. They don't want to hear about the cost and sacrifice of communing with him or walking in obedience to his word. Like the prodigal, a worldliness still grips them, a desire for the pleasures of this life. Luke 8:14; And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. The prodigal son - "BLESS ME CLUB", attitude illustrates what is known as "EASY GRACE." Romans 6:1; What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? v15; What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. "BLESS ME CLUB, don't join up." Quit acting like you can't handle the blessing of grace! DON'T JOIN UP! Titus 2:11; For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, v12; Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
