“A Take On Grace!” Ephesians 2:7; That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. v8; For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. v9; Not of works, lest any man should boast. Now, one of the most challenging comprehension of the last two verses, is you don’t have to do anything, you’re covered. That’s so far from the truth. Old Testament picture; Isaiah 4:1; And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying. We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. But in essence Paul said; Romans 6:1; What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? v2; God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? I beg to differ. What Paul is saying in Ephesians, it was said in a way to keep us from taking credit for it! It’s not your doing. Instead his doing through you. To take grace any other way is a delay of coming up in the Lord, a disadvantage. 1 Kings 18:21; And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. “A Take On Grace!” Numbers 15:32; And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. v35; And the Lord said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. 1 Samuel 3:1; And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision. The man gathering sticks couldn’t see the word that way. Hosea 4:6; My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge. John 1:17; For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Grace came to cover the lack of the truth. “A Take On Grace!” Mary, Martha sister sat at Jesus feet, Luke 10:39. One of the ten men leper’s, which stood afar off: turned back and glorified God, Luke 17:12-16. Matthew 11:29; Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me. “A Take On Grace!” John 6:67; Then said Jesus unto the twelve, will ye also go away? Galatians 2:21; I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. John 6:68; Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. Titus 2:11; For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. v12; Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. James 1:25; But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. “A Take On Grace!” Teaching!
