“Do We Serve Him, To Please Him?” 2 Kings 5:8; And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel. (This is a call to serve, by the Lord; 2 Chronicles 20:20; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. John 8:31; Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; v32; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.) “Do We Serve Him, To Please Us?” 2 Kings 5:9; So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. v10; And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. (Now, this where most of the church have a problem; Colossians 3:2; Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.) 2 Kings 5:11; But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. “Do We Serve Him, To Please Him?” v13; And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? (This is a statement when we come to the Lord, which we have to make; 2 Timothy 2:19; Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.) 2 Kings 5:14; Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. (Now, which one is it?) “Do We Serve Him, To Please Us?” 2 Timothy 3:5; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 1 Timothy 4:8; For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. “Do We Serve Him, To Please Him!” Matthew 6:33; But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (This text word holds great meaning, because we are weighed by the Lord; Proverbs 16:2; All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.) “Do We Serve Him, To Please Him?
