“QUIET, MY HEART!” (Psalm 131:1-3) Another missing essential in today’s church, childlike trust. Psalm 131:1; Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. Peter tells us the secret. 1 Peter 5:6; Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. (We can actually humble ourselves!) Paul nails this one. Romans 12:3; For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. (Not living beyond yourself.) Peter wrote, about Jesus. 1 Peter 5:7; Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Or Jeremiah’s question. Jeremiah 32:27; Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Psalm 131:2; Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. (An admirable way to live, lifestyle.) 1 Corinthians 2:2; For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. (Weaned child.) 2 Timothy 2:15; Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. “QUIET, MY HEART!” Psalm 131:3; Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever. Matthew 18:3; And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. “QUIET, MY HEART!” A state, with meaning!
