“BATTLE OF THE LOOKS!” 2 Corinthians 10:7; Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s. What apostle Paul here is speaking on is this. You have church folk leaving home going to service. Now I want you to look with me, that not only to a building, but also in every day life. But it’s an outward appearance. Apostle Paul says it this way; 1 Corinthians 5:2-7; v2; And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. (Deeds of the flesh.) v3; For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed. v6; Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? A going, but an absence of doing. 2 Corinthians 5:6; Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. And when he speaks on even so are we Christ’s. Leaving home doing service. As he said; Acts 26:2; I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews. Proverbs 23:7; For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. (Another aspect of doing service.) 1 Corinthians 5:7; Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: v8; Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. (Doing service.) 2 Corinthians 5:8; We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. “BATTLE OF THE LOOKS!” Matthew 21:28; But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. v29; He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. This look had a change of heart, a heart for it. Psalm 51:17; The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise. Matthew 21:30; And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. This look didn’t have the heart for it. Galatians 6:3; For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. “BATTLE OF THE LOOKS!” 1 Samuel 16:7; But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart. “BATTLE OF THE LOOKS!” Teaching!
